The School of Law at the University of Aberdeen is already well-known for its LLM in Oil and Gas Law. Building on this success, it has joined with partners at the Universities of Groningen, Copenhagen and Oslo to develop an advanced programme in Energy Law designed for lawyers in practice who wish to develop their knowledge and skills in this important field.
The North Sea Energy Law Programme is structured to accommodate the busy professional through concentrated periods of teaching. Each of the four courses is taught (in English) in a different centre in an intensive two-week block. The programme consists of the following interrelated components, each with a broad, international and comparative perspective:
Downstream Electricity and Gas law – University of Groningen
- Upstream Oil and Gas law – University of Oslo
- Securing Energy Supply: Operations, Investment and Trade – University of Aberdeen
- Green Energy, Climate and Sustainable Development – University of Copenhagen
The small group of participants from the public and private sectors will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and skills and share experiences in a truly international setting.
