The Program
Online LL.M. in Employment Law
- Distance Learning
The LL.M. in Employment Law is offered exclusively online so that busy practitioners can access coursework at times most convenient them. Frequent feedback from professors, coupled with the opportunity for interaction with fellow students, contributes to the collaborative learning environment.

The goal of the LL.M. program is to prepare the next generation of leading Employment Law specialists by offer¬ing courses that both challenge experi¬enced practitioners and provide a solid foundation for new attorneys. Program curriculum is updated each semester to keep pace with the rapidly changing landscape of Employment Law.
- Instant Materials Access
AJMLS’s online classroom experience is easily navigable and combines each course’s seven-week syllabus, notes, readings and professor-student discussions. In addition, AJMLS offers its LL.M. students 24-hour, on-call technical assistance. A hallmark of the program is the “one-click” availability of required readings. This easy access saves students both the expense of traditional textbooks as well as time.

The LL.M. faculty – comprised of seasoned practitioners from across the country and full-time AJMLS faculty members – brings a wealth of experience to the program, combining decades of real-world perspective to further develop the professional competence of students.
- Cohort Community — On and Offline
LL.M. students are grouped into cohorts of approximately 15 persons and remain with the same cohort throughout the program, enabling students to develop relationships with their peers and encouraging group interaction. Students initially come together at AJMLS for a two-day Orientation event and again at the conclusion of the program for thesis presentations and the AJMLS annual Commencement.
- Concise Course Sequencing
The Employment Law LL.M. is a 24-credit, part-time program designed to be completed in five consecutive semesters. Twenty credits are earned through coursework and four through research, writing and presentation of a thesis. Courses are taken consecutively so that students take only one course at a time.
Entry Requirements
Candidates for the Online LL.M. in Employment Law Degree must have a law degree and an academic background reflecting the ability to perform graduate level work. Candidates will be granted admission to the LL.M. program if their application reflects a history of educational and work experience demonstrating a high likelihood that the candidate will be successful in the program.

Application Materials
1. Completed application, including personal statement and C.V.
2. $100 application fee
3. Official transcripts from all law schools attended
4. Two letters of recommendation, at least one of which should be a professional recommendation
Optional Application Materials
LL.M. candidates may submit any additional information that may strengthen their cases for admission, including transcripts from other colleges or universities attended and professional papers – delivered or published.
Tuition and Fees
Students enrolled in the Employment Law LL.M. will be part-time students at Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School and will be charged tuition on a per credit basis.
Tuition for the 2011-2012 Academic Year: $1,128.00 per credit hour.
Financial Aid
Career Enhancement Loan Program - In order to facilitate working members of the legal profession obtaining subject-specific advanced education, Atlanta's John Marshall Law School has established a low interest loan program which may be used to pursue the LL.M. in Employment Law.
