Catholic University of Lyon
A Master of International Business Law (a full-time one year program) is offered by the Catholic University of Lyon Faculty of Law.
The University
The Catholic University of Lyon was founded in 1875 and aims to educate competent and responsible women and men. It welcomes a diverse range of students from every nationality with a variety of philosophical and religious beliefs, and respects freedom of conscience and secularism. With its location at the heart of a regional capital, its close ties to business and strong international links, it seeks to promote academic excellence, creativity and integrity.
The Faculty of Law
The Faculty of law of the Catholic University of Lyon was established in 1996. The Faculty subsequently underwent significant development and now offers Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, as well as preparatory courses for competitive entrance for the French civil service. The Faculty is highly internationalized in teaching and in research, demonstrated notably by its numerous agreements with partners around the world, classes taught in English, international programmes for law students and professionals and guest lecturers from abroad.
The Programme
The Master of International Business Law is open to law graduates who aim to further their legal education by gaining a systematic understanding of the issues at the forefront of select areas of International Business Law. Classes are taught entirely in English. We host many visiting scholars from foreign universities, as well as international practitioners from major foreign law firms and experts from international organizations (WTO, WIPO, OECD, EU).
Thanks to the proximity to Geneva, Luxembourg and Brussels, we are able to organize study visits to the major International and European Organizations/Institutions.
The Masters offers :
- Track 1: Two semesters in Lyon (from September to May). Successful students will be awarded a French Master of International Business Law.
- Track 2: One semester in Lyon (from September to December) and one semester in Ireland, at our partner University, NUI Maynooth (from January to May). This second track is jointly provided by UCLy and the National University of Ireland Maynooth.
