Generous International LL.M. Scholarships available at the University of British Columbia

The LL.M. degree at the University of British Columbia (UBC) prepares graduates for career opportunities in law teaching, legal research, policy making, public and governmental service, and the practice of law. The one-year LL.M. programme does not, however, give entry to the Bar of British Columbia or any other certification for practice, and is not a substitute for an LL.B. This popular course attracts a high number of candidates with overseas training in common and civil law, as well as those with an LL.B. or J.D. degree from Canada and the U.S.

Completion of a substantial thesis forms the core of the LL.M. degree and it is important to pair students with Faculty supervisors.

The tuition for international LL.M. students is currently $7,200 per year (including USA).  All international applicants to the LL.M. programme who are not the recipients of any external funding are automatically considered for the International Partial Tuition Scholarship of $3,260.84 per year.

For more information on this scholarship and other sources of financial aid, visit the Faculty of Graduate Studies website at http://www.grad.ubc.ca.
