Highest mark awarded to former University of Nottingham Law student

The University of Nottingham’s School of Law are delighted to report that Claire San Filippo, a former Law student who took the European Masters in Human Rights and Democratisation (EMA) course in 2008/09, has been awarded the highest mark for a dissertation by the examiners this year (out of 84 students from across the 41 participating universities across the EU).

Claire, supervised by Dino Kritsiotis, Reader in Public International Law at the University of Nottingham, was awarded 10/10 for her thesis, which is a very rare achievement. Claire's thesis has been selected for publication in an edition to be produced by the European Inter-University for Human Rights and Democratisation (EIUC) next year and, as one of the top fifteen students overall, she qualifies for a funded internship with an international, governmental or non-governmental organisation.

One other Nottingham Law student, Lyn Voegele, also performed well with a mark of 9.3. Lyn's thesis was also on the shortlist for publication by EIUC.
