Condo Ndoli Said, LLM in International Humanitarian Law, University of Geneva, Switzerland

Rwandan studen Condo Ndoli Said will be studying an LLM in International Humanitarian Law at the University of Geneva in Switzerland. He feels passionate about human rights and humanitarian law, and has been inspired to continue his studies in this field by the turmoil that his native country has suffered during his lifetime.

He says: ‘History provides numerous instances of wars, and one of the most severe violations of human rights occurred in my country, Rwanda, during the 1994 genocide. This genocide happened because human rights were not respected.’

Condo has taken this terrible experience of the 1994 genocide and decided to turn it into a positive – letting it shape his life in a way that will enable him to help other people.

‘I was there – that horror happened to me, my family and my country,’ he explains. ‘So I decided to contribute actively to the fight against human rights violations and to be a part of those volunteers who, under international or national conflicts, help victims. In this way the respect of the international humanitarian law intervenes in protecting them, and makes the world a better place to live in.’

Condo is a most deserving student and Postgrad Solutions Ltd is delighted to be awarding him a Global LLM Study Bursary. He says, ‘To be awarded the study bursary makes Postgrad Solutions part of the contribution in respect and protection of human lives. I will always be grateful of your help.’
