The College of Law is the UK’s largest, longest established law school, and is at the forefront of professional legal training. We work closely with top global firms and barristers’ chambers to equip students and lawyers with the skills they need to succeed. We are focused on the law and only the law and have centres in Birmingham, Chester, Guildford, London (two) and York.

Our LL.M programmes are designed to give you the practical skills and knowledge to achieve new professional goals, take your career to the next level and help you acquire valuable commercial insight. 

LL.M in Professional Legal Practice
Our LL.M in Professional Legal Practice is a truly professional qualification, designed to give you the practical skills and knowledge to achieve new professional goals. It’s uniquely client-focused and reflects cutting-edge approaches to professional legal practice, with a wide choice of flexible modules to suit your specialist area of law.

To achieve the full LL.M, you’ll need to study six modules and an assignment over a maximum of five years.

You can study at your own pace, with a choice of supervised online or blended learning modules. Supervised online modules combine online study with one-to-one online supervision from a College tutor. Blended learning modules combine online study with face-to-face tuition at one of the College’s UK centres.

Fast track for College of Law graduates
All College of Law LPC and BVC graduates are now eligible for 60 credits towards our LL.M in Professional Legal Practice – meaning they are already a third of the way to achieving the Master’s degree.

Entry requirements
A UK undergraduate degree or international equivalent, or a GDL, LPC or BVC. We recommend that non-law graduates have a grounding in common law.

LL.M in International Legal Practice
Delivered in association with the International Bar Association (IBA), our LL.M in International Legal Practice is a truly professional qualification, designed to give you the practical skills and knowledge to achieve new professional goals. It’s completely client-focused and reflects cutting-edge approaches to international legal practice, with a choice of corporate specialisms designed in conjunction with leading global law firms.

To achieve the full LL.M, you’ll need to study six modules and an assignment over a maximum of five years. You can study at your own pace, using supervised online modules that combine online study with one-to-one online supervision from a College tutor.
