University of Cape Town celebrates 150 years of legal education

The first lectures in law were given in 1859 at the University of Cape Town and so 2009 marks the 150th year anniversary of the start of legal education at the University.  Starting on October 17th, a six month long celebration of the history and accomplishments of the Law School will begin.  The celebration will also mark the transition of deanship of the Law School from Hugh Corder to Prof PJ Schwikkard.

For further information about celebration events  and law degree programmes please visit the University of Cape Town Law School website.
