Miami Law has specialised LLM to help foreign lawyers with legal English proficiency
Miami Law has a specialised LLM program specifically designed to help prepare foreign lawyers for LLM success.
The Intensive Legal English + LLM program at Miami Law was originally launched in 2016 to help foreign-trained lawyers learn about the American legal system as well as improve their legal English.
Carmen Perez-Llorca, Director of Miami Law’s International Graduate Law Programs and founder of the program, says, “The LLM with Intensive English Program can open doors for students that will change the course of their career.”
This innovative intensive course offers foreign students much more than the usual summer program on offer at other US law schools, and since it began it has welcomed LLM students from across the world including France, Brazil, Honduras, Colombia, Mexico, Cuba, Spain, Russia, Dominican Republic, Italy, Saudi Arabia and Venezuela.
Bayan Alheiji of Saudi Arabia also enrolled in the program at Miami Law to prepare for a future career. He says, “I finished my bachelor degree in law in my country, and then I got the scholarship from my government to complete my LLM in the USA. My future goals are to be a legal consultant in the international commercial scope, and work with official authorities in my country such as the ministry of foreign affairs.”
Classes for the next cohort of the Intensive Legal English + LLM program start in January 2019 – find out more here.
