ULaw launches new scholarship for PG human rights students

University of LawThe University of Law has launched a new human rights scholarship for postgraduate law students, this new funding is in partnership with Amal Clooney and the Clooney Foundation for Justice (CFJ).

The Amal Clooney Scholarship for Human Rights Advocates is a UK first for the CFJ and will provide the successful applicant with a fully funded postgraduate place to study at ULaw. Applicants will need to demonstrate their commitment to supporting and defending human rights and can choose from a range of postgraduate law courses at any of ULaw’s 16 UK campuses, as well as their PG online offerings or even at ULaw’s campus in Hong Kong.

Speaking about this new scholarship with ULaw, Amal Clooney says, “It is an honour to join forces with The University of Law to empower the next generation of lawyers and advocates. I am thrilled that this scholarship will increase access to legal education in human rights and I look forward to seeing the incredible work of future recipients.”

Amal’s global efforts in the fight against injustice though the Clooney Foundation for Justice and providing free legal support to victims are an inspiration to all future lawyers. We take great pride in working with real change makers in the legal world and supporting a new generation of human rights advocates with this scholarship.”

The CFJ works in over 40 countries, providing free legal support to those who have been victims of human rights violations around the world.

The scholarship application deadline is Sunday 30th June 2024.
