Postgrad Solutions Global LLM Study Bursary Winner
Sadaf Javed, LLM in International Commercial Law,
University of Nottingham
25-year old Sadaf Javed has come to England from Pakistan to study an LLM in International Commercial Law at the University of Nottingham. She is thrilled to have been awarded a Postgrad Solutions Global LLM Study Bursary. She says:
'Winning the bursary was something of great delight and honour for me - it has also been a source of encouragement.’ Sadaf continues, ‘My parents are funding my studies so I am extremely happy that some of the financial burden is off their shoulders because of the bursary.’
Sadaf chose the University of Nottingham because of its high ranking amongst UK universities, and she has not been disappointed with her choice. She enthuses, ‘The University of Nottingham has pleased me in every respect so far. I am extremely satisfied with the quality of education.’ Sadaf continues, ‘The beauty and peace of the campus is also remarkable.’
Sadaf has had several highlights during her first week at the University of Nottingham, these include meeting lots of international students from all over the world, trips around Nottingham city centre, exploring the university campus, and not forgetting English food!
Sadaf chose to come to the UK from Pakistan for her studies because like Pakistan the UK is a common law country. This means that studying law here is of more relevance than studying law in those countries that practice civil law. She chose to study an LLM in International Commercial Law because of her interest in this field, and so far she is particularly enjoying the interactive class environment.
