Hofstra Law’s LL.M. in American Legal Studies offers graduates who received their law degrees outside the United States the opportunity to gain a profound understanding of U.S. law and its practice. Hofstra’s campus, which is located in New York State, allows students to take advantage of New York City’s many professional and social opportunities, while learning and studying in a quiet suburban environment.

Hofstra Law’s LL.M. in American Legal Studies offers

LL.M. students can focus their studies on a wide-range of practice areas, including growing areas like family law, health law, intellectual property, immigration and business law. Courses are taught by Hofstra Law’s world renowned faculty who rank 33 nationally in scholarly impact.

Each LL.M. student is matched with an academic advisor to develop a customized course of study that best suits their professional needs. During the academic year, students are exposed firsthand to the practice of law through visits with attorneys, local courts and other legal institutions.

Students in this program have included law graduates from more than 40 countries, including Brazil, China, India, Korea, Russia, Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom.
