Summary

United States Civil Liberties consists of an analysis of judicial cases and related materials illustrating historical and current interpretations of constitutional problems involving civil liberties and civil rights in the United States. Civil liberties are guarantees and freedoms that liberal governments commit not to abridge, by legislation or judicial interpretation, without due process. The role of civil liberties in American society provides a useful insight to any non-US lawyer doing business with and within that society. The course is not open to persons holding an American law degree. - Asynchronous Distance Learning
