Life in Philadelphia
Philadelphia is an integral part of the Temple Law journey—not only historically significant as the first U.S. city distinguished as a World Heritage City, thanks to its UNESCO-world-heritage World listed Independence Hall, but also one of the most dynamic American destinations today. For the third year straight, it has been named the “Most Walkable U.S. City to Visit.” Philadelphia is also nationally known for its food. The city was recently added to the Michelin Guide, one of the top honors in dining, showing that Philly’s restaurants are among the best in the country. Together, these honors reflect a city that is both rooted in history and vibrantly alive in culture.
Students’ academic programs are enhanced daily by the cultural and intellectual life of this beautiful and vibrant city, and at a much more affordable living cost compared to other East Coast cities.
The sixth largest city in the country, Philadelphia, is home to state and federal courts at every level, countless law firms, large and small, dozens of municipal agencies, and hundreds of other legal employers. Temple Law students can easily commute to New York City and Washington, DC because of Philadelphia’s convenient location between the two major cities.
