Cornell launches part-time LLM degree in Law, Technology and Entrepreneurship

Cornell TechIn 2016, Cornell Law School and Cornell Tech in New York created an LLM degree in Law, Technology and Entrepreneurship, now for 2025 Cornell Tech has launched a part-time version.

When it was first launched, this Master of Laws was the first of its kind worldwide, and the new part-time version is ideal for students who need a flexible schedule whilst immersing themselves in this innovative field.

This LLM degree program has been designed to teach students about the legal and commercial aspects of new technology, as well as how to bring new companies and new products to market. Areas of study include finance for tech companies, technology transactions, internet law, intellectual property, privacy law and other essential courses needed to represent a technology company.

Speaking about this Master of Laws, Matthew D’Amore, Director of the LLM Tech program and Professor of Practice at Cornell Tech and Cornell Law School, says, “The Tech LLM program provides our students with deep disciplinary experience in technology law, practice and policy, and also allows them to participate in Cornell Tech’s flagship Studio program where they learn how to build products and act as founders.”

He continues, “We’re now rolling out a new part-time version of our LLM program to allow law graduates with flexible work schedules to take advantage of this unique educational opportunity while continuing to work at least part time. The part-time program will be best-suited for individuals who can reduce their hours at work and reorient their schedules to participate in classes two days a week for the next two years.”

Cornell Tech’s part-time LLM degree in Law, Technology and Entrepreneurship is a two-year, part-time course and is open to practicing attorneys and recent law graduates.
