Summary
This programme is effectively the successor programme to DMU’s long running LPC, preparing you for the SQE assessments which will be taken externally at a central provider appointed by the Solicitors Regulation Authority.
The programme enables you to practically apply your theoretical legal knowledge, previously gained during a law degree, and it also teaches you legal skills such as researching, interviewing, drafting, writing, advocacy and negotiation which will help you towards your SQE 2 preparation as well.
Further, this programme will also incorporate a choice of three specialist elective subjects, including Employment Law & Practice, Advanced Criminal Practice, and Immigration Law & Practice.
Assessments will consist of two hour closed book examinations containing SQE type questions and also a critical analysis-based reflective portfolio.
The programme will be offered on a FT (one year) and PT (two years) basis with an exit point at PG Dip level.
