Chevening ScholarshipsApplications for the 2027/2028 Chevening Scholarships open on Tuesday 4th August at 12 BST (11 UTC).

Chevening Scholarships provide international students from eligible countries with fully funded masters degree study – including Master of Laws degree programs – at prestigious UK universities and law schools, covering international tuition fees and basic living costs.

Here is the Chevening application timeline:

  • Tuesday 4 August 2026 – Chevening applications open at 12 BST (11 UTC).
  • Tuesday 6 October 2026 – Deadline for applications at 12 BST (11 UTC) – students will not be able to access the online application portal after this date and time.
  • October 2026 – Applications are sorted out against eligibility criteria.
  • Mid-October 2026 to January 2027 – Independent reading committees assess eligible applications.
  • Mid-February 2027 – Applicants are shortlisted for interview by British embassies and high commissions.
  • March to April 2027 – Candidates are interviewed by panels at British embassies and high commissions.
  • Mid-June 2027 – Interview results are announced from mid-June onwards.
  • Thursday 8 July 2027 – Deadline for those successful at interview to submit at least one unconditional UK university offer is 5pm BST (4 UTC).
  • September/October 2027 – 2027/28 Chevening Scholars start their studies at UK universities.
