Suffolk Law’s 3 LLM programs among best for foreign-trained attorneys
All three Master of Laws (LLM) programs at Suffolk University Law School have been named to The National Jurist’s 2026 Honor Roll of Best LLM Programs for Foreign Attorneys, a distinction that highlights the school’s continued importance in graduate legal education for internationally trained lawyers.
The recognition places Suffolk Law’s General LLM, LLM in Global Law and Technology, and LLM in Legal Innovation & Technology programs among a select group of graduate law programs recognised for supporting foreign-trained attorneys as they pursue legal careers in the United States and abroad.
According to The National Jurist, programs were evaluated on a range of factors affecting student success, including academic quality, advising and student support, networking opportunities, bar examination preparation, and experiential learning opportunities. The rankings are designed to help prospective students identify programs that provide a strong foundation for career advancement and integration into the US legal profession.
Located in downtown Boston, Massachusetts, Suffolk Law has long positioned itself at the intersection of legal education, practice, and innovation. Its location provides students with access to one of the nation’s most active legal and business communities, placing them near courts, government agencies, law firms, corporations, and leading technology and healthcare organisations.
The recognition reflects broader trends in legal education, where increasing globalisation and technological change are driving demand for lawyers with both international perspectives and specialised knowledge. Suffolk Law’s LLM offerings are designed to address those needs through a mix of traditional legal study, practical training, and exposure to emerging areas of practice.
Particular attention has been drawn to the school’s LLM in Legal Innovation & Technology, a STEM-approved program focused on the evolving relationship between law and technology. The LLM in Global Law and Technology similarly addresses cross-border legal issues in an increasingly digital economy, while the General LLM provides a flexible curriculum for foreign-trained attorneys seeking a deeper understanding of the American legal system.
The inclusion of all three programs on the 2026 Honor Roll underscores Suffolk Law’s growing reputation as a destination for international legal professionals seeking advanced training, professional development, and pathways into a rapidly changing global legal marketplace.
