International student visa maintenance funds in the UK to increase in November
The amount of maintenance funds that international students will need to prove to qualify for a UK student visa is set to increase in November 2026.
For the nine-month study period, international students will need to demonstrate that they have an increased amount of funds of £1,570 per month if they are studying in London or £1,203 per month if they are studying outside of London.
The total amount necessary for international students in London from 30th November 2026 is £14,130 for the nine-month period, whilst international students studying outside of London need £10,827.

These funds are for the students’ living costs and are separate from the expenses incurred by postgraduate tuition fees, student visa fees and other study costs.
