Queen Mary launches two new LLM degree courses
The Centre for Commercial Law Studies at Queen Mary University of London is launching two new LLM degrees – an LLM in Fashion Law and an LLM in AI and the Law. These two new Master of Laws courses are starting in September 2025 and have been specifically designed to give students the knowledge and skillset in these rapidly advancing areas of law.
The LLM in Fashion Law at QMUL is the only Master of Laws course in this field in the UK – it will focus on the laws and regulatory frameworks in the fashion industry. Students on Fashion Law LLM degree will develop a wider understanding of the socio-cultural and policy issues within creative industries, including social justice issues in fashion, cultural appropriation, fast fashion and sustainability. Students will study areas including intellectual property law, trademark protection, contract law, and tax law within creative industries.

The LLM in AI and the Law has been created to give students an understanding of the technological, ethical and legal issues raised using AI technologies in a variety of sectors. Students will analyse emerging laws and the impact on industries such as recruitment, law enforcement, dispute resolution, legal practice, financial services, employment, medical, arts, and production of content. They will also consider the legal implications in a variety of areas including intellectual property, competition law, finance, dispute resolution, national security and tax, making this an interdisciplinary LLM that will support students as the demand for legal professionals with expertise in AI grows.
