Top UK universities for law according to prestigious rankings

This month, The Guardian published its official rankings of the best UK universities for 2026. As well as publishing overall rankings for the UK universities – The Guardian’s University Guide also breaks down the rankings into subjects.

The Guardian University Guide 2026 uses various metrics to rank the universities, including student satisfaction, graduate prospects, staff numbers, and university spending – the institutions are then given a score out of 100.

Although these assessments are predominantly made on the basis of the undergraduate courses, students, finances, etc, they can still be useful when assessing which university to choose for postgraduate law studies.
