Summary

Our International Commercial Law LLM explores current legal developments, including the impact of geopolitical tensions on international agreements, sanctions on global markets and issues relating to digitalisation, climate change and sustainability.

You will study aspects of public international law alongside contemporary issues in areas such as international relations, human rights and international trade, while learning to contextualise these within real-world developments.

You’ll also complete an independent legal project in your chosen specialism to deepen your expertise in international commercial law.

Studying at Brighton gives you access to the city’s excellent legal community, and its proximity to London means you’ll have the opportunity to connect with institutions and organisations at the heart of international commercial developments.

With extracurricular activities, such as mooting, client interviewing and pro bono work, you will develop practical skills in legal research, problem-solving, critical analysis and communication.

The industry placement or research year is a great way to gain valuable professional or academic experience and provides an opportunity for international students to study in the UK for two years instead of one. We offer a two-year international study visa route to support applications for this course.

Our International Law LLM offers an opportunity to explore international law in a broad context.
