The easy transportation links between the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and France mean that heading off for work experience or internships in the institutions and organisations that are related to or work with the EU is easy. Some legal institutions of the United Nations, such as the International Court of Justice, are based in the Netherlands and because of these international organisations, there are also many corporations that use the Netherlands as a base for their global operations. If you want your career to have a base in the international organisations of the EU, the UN or international business, then the Netherlands is a great place to choose to study an LLM.

What does it cost?

Postgraduate education is relatively inexpensive in the Netherlands, and generally tends to be the same across all of the law schools. For students travelling from the EU and who have not studied at the postgraduate level before, tuition fees for an LLM are around €2,143 per year. For students who are from the Netherlands or the EU and have studied a masters level course before, the fees tend to be somewhere close to the international student tuition fee rate.
