Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) in the UK offers a one year full-time/two year part-time program which focuses on an all-inclusive overview of the core legal as well as theoretical matters that concern immigration law and policy from a comparative, international, domestic and European standpoint. The modules of this LLM course include European migration law, international migration and refugee law, cultural diversity and the law, migration and security and comparative immigration law.

Over in the United States, the Washington College of Law offers an LLM in Law and Government which has a specialisation in Immigration Law and Policy. This includes modules on Immigration & Naturalization; Asylum & Refugee Law; Immigration Law Enforcement; Trafficking in Persons; and Human Rights.

What Qualifications Do You Need To Study An LLM In Immigration Law? 

To be able to do a masters degree in the field of Immigration Law, you must have a first or upper second class degree with honours. If you are an international student you will be required to take an IELTS language test to assess your level of English. Most institutions expect an IELTS score of around 6.5 to 7.0. If there is need for ongoing support with English during the program, it will be provided for you.
