Nottingham Law School

With over 50 years' experience supporting students, we are one of the UK's largest and most established law schools. Delivering first-class teaching, fantastic facilities and flexible courses, we support legal professionals at every stage of their careers.

We pride ourselves on our dynamic and personal Law School community, creating many fantastic opportunities for our students. The Nottingham Law School Legal Advice Centre, our unique and ground-breaking teaching law firm, provides a number of pro bono activities. Other school community activities include mooting, volunteering, work experience, overseas placements, summer schools, guest lectures, careers skills workshops, professional and networking lunches, prize giving ceremonies and much more.

Our courses are accredited or approved by a range of professional bodies, including the Solicitors Regulation Authority, Bar Standards Board, Intellectual Property Regulation Board and Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys, and our extensive links with the legal and other professions both at home and overseas, reflect and inform the design of our course portfolio and ensure that we continue to lead the way in legal education.

A dedicated careers and recruitment service provides students with guidance and assistance in their search for a training contract, pupillage and work experience. Our consistently high graduate employability rate is an indicator of our commitment to producing confident and skilled graduates who are ready to succeed in their chosen careers.

Nottingham Law School hosts a variety of events throughout the academic year. These vary from Conferences to Law Fairs and Guest Lectures. These events provide an insight into a range of topical issues and we have recently held debates on legal education as well as international and European insolvency regulation.

Our outstanding facilities, including authentic replica courtrooms, a £13 million library, over 7,000 computer workstations and newly refurbished buildings ensure our students have the best learning environment.

The School has its own multi-award-winning Legal Advice Centre, which was set up in 2006 and relaunched its new premises in 2014. The Centre is a teaching law firm offering pro bono services to the local community and providing students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in practice. The Centre is the only Free Representation Unit (FRU) outside of London. With supervision from our in-house solicitors, students are able to provide the local community with free representation in employment and social security tribunals. This provides a great experience for our students and helps develop many of the transferable skills desired by employers.
