Osgoode Professional Development (OsgoodePD) 
OsgoodePD offers the broadest range of programs available in Canada for internationally-trained lawyers. Whether you are looking to specialize with a professional graduate degree or start the process of qualifying to practise common law in Canada, there’s a learning option to suit your needs. From full-time professional graduate degrees to non-credit courses to help you prepare for the NCA Exams, OsgoodePD has your development goals in mind.

Students will complete their studies in two locations: at Osgoode Hall Law School on the York University campus, and at Osgoode Professional Development in downtown Toronto. Part-Time Professional LLM 
Osgoode’s Professional LLM is specially designed for lawyers, executives and experienced professionals wanting to develop their expertise in a particular area of law, this program complements your busy schedule and provides the option to focus on one of 14 law specializations. Majority of our LLM specializations can be completed while working full-time and are accessible with videoconferencing technology to bring professionals located outside of Toronto into the classroom, with just a click.

Full-Time LLM in International Business Law 
Osgoode’s one-year, full-time LLM in International Business Law is designed to give law graduates from around the world the knowledge and skills they need to flourish in the world’s top legal and business environments. Award-winning faculty teach the latest developments in international trade law, intellectual property law, environmental law, and a myriad of related topics. Full-Time LLM in Canadian Common Law 
Osgoode’s one-year, full-time LLM in Canadian Common Law provides the opportunity to take core courses in Canadian common law topics taught at the graduate level along with a wide range of elective options. The core courses are specifically designed to meet the requirements of the Federation of Law Societies of Canada's National Committee on Accreditation (NCA).

Certificate in Foundations for Graduate Legal Studies
If you are an internationally trained lawyer or law graduate interested in pursuing an LLM in Canada, this certificate program is designed to provide you with the language, analytical and writing skills needed to succeed in your studies and beyond. We know that international students can face numerous challenges when beginning graduate legal studies in Canada. Entry Requirements 
The Admissions Committee reviews each applicant’s completed file and take into consideration academic background, professional work experience and ‘fit’ for the program. The below represents the minimum requirements for admission consideration to our graduate degree programs – meeting these criteria does not guarantee admission.

Scholarships and funding
International Student Entrance Scholarships

Entrance scholarships are awarded to international students applying to a full-time LLM program who demonstrate the strongest academic ability and potential as indicated by their application materials. The maximum amount awarded is $5,000. All individuals who apply and have submitted all required documents by late February of the year in which they intend to start the program and meet the criteria are eligible for these scholarships and will automatically be considered for an entrance scholarship (see application deadlines for details). If a scholarship is awarded, it will be credited to the student’s financial account during the Winter term.

The Professor Marilyn L. Pilkington Award 
Professor Marilyn L. Pilkington, the Dean of Osgoode Hall Law School from 1993 to 1998 and founder of Osgoode Professional Development, established this award to be given to a student pursuing studies in the LLM program. The award will be granted annually (each Fall term) to a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, protected person, resident of Ontario, on the basis of academic achievement and financial need. Preference will be given to a graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School.
