Our LLM in International Commercial Law will give you access to one of the most important legal fields for global business. It is an area of law that is constantly evolving and innovating - and you will graduate with the knowledge and skills to embrace the challenges and opportunities presented by law in a global environment.
Our LLM programmes are well-respected by global law firms*. This programme presents an exciting opportunity for in-depth, intensive study of specialist commercial law subjects, and includes a choice of units that build knowledge of the law relevant to international business transactions and contexts in which law operates at a transnational level.
You will be challenged and inspired by academics dedicated to progressive and innovative thinking in business enterprise. The intellectually demanding, research-rich curriculum they deliver makes our graduates stand out, able to demonstrate excellent legal, analytical and research skills, and with a deep appreciation of the commercial context in which the law and lawyers function.
Empowered to pursue top-flight careers in a variety of sectors, our students have gone on to forge ahead in the legal, business and finance sectors, as specialist in-house lawyers - or working within regulatory organisations. The international law units can be chosen from topics within the field of private international law and the content of commercial law units includes an international element, such as international trade. The programme will appeal both to students from outside the UK and to students who wish to combine their areas of specialism.
Our Centre of Law and Enterprise Research Centre shows our breadth of critical scholarship, teaching and public engagement towards business enterprise and the dedication to progressive and innovative thinking.
We offer an exciting and stimulating set of postgraduate law programmes, each of which prepares you for a variety of careers. If you are interested in studying law beyond your undergraduate degree level and want to develop your analytical, research and legal writing skills, you will find Bristol’s LLM to be a challenging and rewarding experience. We have a large and vibrant international community and our LLM students benefit from small class sizes taught by world-renowned experts.
Our LLM programmes give you the opportunity to specialise in a particular area but you can also opt for a broader and more general set of unit choices. In all cases, you are encouraged to explore your chosen areas of law at a deeper level.
