How to have the ideal LLM student lifestyle
What do you imagine the ideal LLM student lifestyle is?
Is it calmly answering tough legal questions with perfect succinct answers in your tutorials and then wafting back home coffee in hand to your glorious student house to quickly write a brilliant concise essay before heading off for a night of glamorous socialising?
Sadly the reality might be a bit of a shock, but fear not as you can have a great lifestyle while studying for that LLM if you follow a few simple rules:
1. Pick the right place to live in
Finding your dream accommodation will make a big difference especially if you've got everything you need all in one place. A bright room with plenty of natural daylight is perfect to study in together with a place with large airy comfortable communal spaces makes it easy to relax. Fresh Student Living is a great choice as they have lots of types of accommodation all in one place and they aim to keep the decor fresh and modern promoting a calm and tranquil atmosphere.
2. Spend time making friends
Taking the little spare time you have to make friends on your course as well as with those you live with will make your life much easier and more enjoyable. It will be easier to have fun with your housemates if you're friends with them and friends made on your LLM course are the start of your professional network. If you opt for purpose-built student accommodation Fresh Student Living you'll find they arrange fun social events for their residents getting you away from your coursework just for a little while. It's also a good idea to join a law society to meet like-minded people.
3. Work hard
This one seems obvious, but do the coursework! Studying an LLM is a long way from studying at school, so no-one is going to chase you about it. Getting it done in a timely manner will let you properly relax. A good study area will help with this and all of the rooms with Fresh Student Living have a perfect study area provided.
4. Find great work experience before you go
Having a bit of relevant work experience will give you something to tie to what you are learning about on your LLM program. This will help with those fabulously succinct and analytical essays you are going to write.
5. Search out funding to help you
Money helps out with lots of things and not having to worry about funding while you are concentrating on your LLM is ideal. This means doing your homework in advance and applying for loans, bursaries and scholarships before you start your course. You'll also want to work out a budget and this is much easier when you rent a place with all the bills included like the accommodation provided by Fresh Student Living.
6. Make your house a home
You're not going to be able to relax at home if it doesn't feel like home, so bring some familiar things with you and spend a little time making your student accommodation comfortable. Fresh Student Living can arrange for you to shop through their partner site for all the little extras a home needs and have it delivered on the day you move in.
7. Schedule downtime
Plan to relax, it seems simple but you need to schedule it in when you are doing an intensive course like an LLM.
