BPP University Law School launches two LLM programs for solicitors and barristers
BPP University Law School is launching two new LLM programs specifically for solicitors and barristers. The LLM Legal Practice (Solicitors) and LLM Legal Practice (Barristers) will welcome its first intakes in September 2017. There will also be a second intake for the full-time LLM Legal Practice (Solicitors) program in January 2018.
Both programs will allow students to select from a range of LLM modules and each student will qualify for a postgraduate loan of up to £10,280 from the Student Loans Company.
Jo-Anne Pugh, Joint Director of Legal Practice Course programs at BPP University Law School, explains: “This is an integrated, practice-focused program which has employability at its heart. Students can tailor their own program to the area of law they wish to practise, by choosing three from a wide range of elective modules and a ‘Practice Ready’ module, which can have a business, skills or work-based learning focus. It is a challenging and rewarding program enabling students to acquire further knowledge and skills that are of real value in current legal practice.”
James Welsh, Joint Director of Bar Professional Training Course programs at BPP University Law School, says: “This LLM is designed around flexibility, choice and transparency. With stakes as high as they are, it would be very wrong to push all students onto a single-speed option. There are a number of choices in how to complete the LLM, and, importantly, we have a route which includes business strategy and negotiation, giving candidates a chance to develop skills valued by employers.”
Those studying the LLM Legal Practice (Solicitors) program can choose either a one-year full-time or two-year part-time option. It will be available at BPP University Law School’s study centres in Holborn London, Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, Leeds, Liverpool and Manchester. And those wanting to study the LLM Legal Practice (Barristers) can select from either the one-year full-time option or part-time (two-year) program. These classes will be held at BPP University Law School’s study centres in Holborn London, Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds and Manchester.
