GW Law Associate Dean is elected NBA Vice President
The Associate Dean for Trial Advocacy – Alfreda Robinson – has been elected as an Officer and sworn in as the National Bar Association (NBA) Vice President for Regions and Affiliates at the 2017 annual NBA Convention in Toronto, Canada. She was elected by a substantial margin after a well-executed and exhausting campaign.
When asked how her role will impact both the NBA and GW Law, Associate Dean Robinson explained that she will now be able to recruit students and lawyers to the law school at both the JD and LLM level, saying, “It will give me a wider network to recruit potential speakers, adjunct faculty, donors for scholarship, and sources for institutional entrepreneurial projects."
In her new role as NBA Vice President for Regions and Affiliates Associate Dean Robinson will act as the principal liaison to the NBA's 84 national and international affiliates. She enthuses, "I look forward to working and building a better NBA and stronger voice on issues of national significance.”
The National Bar Association represents a professional network pf more than 60,000 people and is the USA’s oldest and largest national association of predominantly African-American lawyers, judge, professors, and law students. It has 84 Affiliate Chapters throughout the United States and in Canada, the United Kingdom, Africa, and the Caribbean.
