Students of Bristol’s LLM in Health, Law and Society offered generous scholarships
Students studying the LLM in Health, Law and Society at the University of Bristol can apply for generous Wellcome Trust Scholarships to cover tuition fees and living costs.
LLM students starting this Master of Laws program in the September 2019 are invited to apply to the scholarship scheme with the purpose of improving students’ understanding of health through the humanities or social sciences; preparing the students for a career in health-related humanities or social science research; and to build an influential and diverse population of talented researchers.
Professor John Coggon, co-director of the Centre for Health, Law, and Society, at the University of Bristol says, “I and my colleagues in the Centre for Health, Law, and Society are really delighted that the Wellcome Trust is providing scholarships for students on the LLM program in Health, Law, and Society. Our aim with this degree is to provide an ambitious and distinct program of study, engaging modes of understanding from the humanities, social sciences, and health, in a way that reflects and may respond to the most salient health-related challenges of the 21st century: looking within, but also beyond, healthcare.”
Successful applicants of a Wellcome Trust Scholarship will receive payment of their tuition fees (at UK/EU level); an annual stipend of £15,000; plus a £500 research budget for conference attendance.
To apply for the scholarship students must e-mail a 500-word personal statement to law-pg-admissions@bristol.ac.uk explaining how the LLM in Health, Law and Society will help build their capacity to become an influential health researcher, and how the LLM will for into their career plans and ambitions.
The deadline for Wellcome Trust Scholarships applications is 5pm on Friday 31st May 2019.
