UNH Franklin Pierce School of Law excels in prestigious rankings

Franklin PierceUNH Franklin Pierce School of Law has once again performed brilliantly in the US News & World Report Rankings.

In the recently published figures the US-based law school achieves the fifth place for intellectual law programs. Franklin Pierce is also ranked amongst the world’s top 100 law schools, taking the 88th spot overall.

Speaking about these latest achievements, Dean Megan Carpenter, explains, “This year was a banner year for the law school. We introduced the country’s first Hybrid Juris Doctor program in Intellectual Property, which allows students to keep their jobs while pursuing their dream of becoming a lawyer.” She continues, “We reintegrated Franklin Pierce back into our name. We took nearly 50 IP students to Silicon Valley this January to learn directly from heads of industry at Apple, Google, Intel, Microsoft and others. These efforts boosted our already strong brand in the marketplace and because of these shifts, we increased our class size by 50%, enrolled more students with a background in STEM, all while maintaining our strong admissions standards. It’s a testament to the vision we have for the law school.”

Franklin Pierce has achieved a top 10 ranking for intellectual property for nearly 30 years, since the US News & World Report specialty rankings began in 1983. The law school boasts some of the most robust resources in the field of intellectual property, with half the faculty practicing and teaching in this area. It also features one of the largest academic IP libraries in the Western Hemisphere.

Franklin Pierce also excels in other areas of law such as social justice – with its Warren B Rudman Center for Justice, Leadership and Public Service serving as a hub for public discourse and providing scholarships to students who have an interest in public service law, with stipends for students working in government agencies and public service organisations.

Dean Carpenter says, “We’re innovating legal education here and people are starting to notice. What we’re doing today, other law schools will be doing tomorrow. Our rankings are just another signal to that end.”

UNH Franklin Pierce School of Law is currently accepting applications for its JD, Hybrid JD, LLM, masters and certificate programs – please contact the Admissions department for more information.
