University of Groningen has top-rated LLM in Global Criminal Law
The LLM in Global Criminal Law at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands has been highly rated by Dutch ratings publication the Keuzegids Higher Education Guide 2018.
The recently published Keuzegids gave the LLM in Global Criminal Law (GCL)* a “Top-Rated’ award, as well as Groningen’s Faculty of Law’s LLMs in International Human Rights Law and Public International Law.
Professor Dr Caroline Fournet, the Academic Director of the GCL program, was delighted to hear of the Top-Rated designation and the strong scores achieved by the LLM in Global Criminal Law, particularly for teaching expertise, course structure, staff involvement, and quality of facilities.
This acknowledgement demonstrates that law at the University of Groningen is going from strength to strength. Just last year the International Law Department at the Faculty of Law was named as the top place in the Netherlands to study international law, according to Keuzegids Higher Education Guide 2017. This ranking in international law refers jointly to the Faculty of Law’s English language LLM degree programs in International and Human Rights Law (IHRL), and Public International Law (PIL).
The International Law Department received this award for a second consecutive year, and Professor Dr Marcel Brus, the Academic Director of both programs, commented, “This makes me very proud. We have invested in well-balanced programs in the field of international law that provide a strong knowledge base, training of essential skills in research and communication, while allowing some flexibility in choices that students can make. This is only possible due to the dedication of all lecturers and of our very well-organised international office. This confirms the position of Groningen as a vibrant and highly internationalised university”.
