Birkbeck's School of Law is a leading international centre for world-class legal research and scholarship. The School provides a range of innovative Masters degrees on a part-time (2 years) or full-time (1 year) basis and hosts a flourishing community of students engaged in graduate research. All members of teaching staff carrying out multidisciplinary research in exciting and innovative areas. The academic staff are recognised leaders and experts in their fields, and are particularly well known for addressing legal issues from a critical and sociolegal perspective. Each year, in addition to our Masters degrees, we are joined by a vibrant community of high-quality research students studying towards a University of London MPhil or PhD in Law. The MPhil/PhD programme can be undertaken part-time (over a minimum of 3 years), or full-time (over a minimum of 2 years).
