Brooklyn Law School offers LLM programme for foreign-trained lawyers

Brooklyn Law School has an LLM programme that gives foreign-trained lawyers the opportunity to study United States law and to learn how US lawyers approach specific types of legal issues.

This LLM programme is designed to train the lawyers in using legal English as it is used in American legal practice.

The Brooklyn Law School LLM Programme facilitates specialised study in three subject areas: business law, intellectual property law, and refugee and immigration law. However the Law School can also accommodate tailored study plans for those students who wish to explore other areas of the law.

There are four features that make the Brooklyn Law School LLM perfectly uniquely equipped to meet the needs of foreign-trained lawyers.

1. Brooklyn Law School offers a rich intellectual experience that extends beyond the classroom.

2. For students who are not native speakers of English, the programme places a strong emphasis on helping foreign-trained lawyers develop the skills needed to successfully draft US legal documents.

3. Students enrolled in the programme who choose to sit for the New York State bar examination can receive particular assistance to help them pass the exam.

4. Brooklyn Law School offers housing to all full-time LLM students.
