Chancellor announces changes to postgrad loans in the UK
In this year’s Autumn Statement, the Chancellor announced a large change to the structure of funding for postgraduate degrees – student loans. And this is great news for LLM students!
Starting from the academic year 2016-17, along with all other postgraduates , law postgraduates under the age of 30 will be able to apply for a loan similar to their undergraduate student loan, designed to be paid back alongside it. Vice-President of the NUS, Megan Dunn, greeted the news enthusiastically, describing it as a major step in the right direction.
These loans will be government backed, and available to students studying to any postgraduate subjects, including law.
