International Environmental Law LLM at Kent Law School

Kent Law School has developed an LLM in International Environmental Law as an extension of their international and environmental postgraduate expertise and in recognition of the increasingly important position that the environment holds, and will continue to hold, in international law.

The LLM takes an academically critical view of the operation of international environmental law and policy, and features a particular focus on topics that are perceived to be controversial or in a state of evolution.

Throughout the degree, students analyse the institutional structures and key principles of law and policy, and the contexts in which international law operates. The theoretical, social, political and scientific perspectives that underlie the substantive areas of law, as well as the practical situations in which international environmental law operates, form the framework for much of this analysis. Graduates of the programme take with them the knowledge and expertise required to pursue a professional or academic career in this contemporary and developing discipline.

Students are able to apply for the LLM in International Environmental Law now, with the programme accepting applications for September 2008 entry.

More information about the programme, and details about how to apply, can be found on the Law School’s website, or by contacting the Kent Law School Postgraduate Office by e-mail or by phone on +44 (0)1227 824595.
