Kent Law comes out top at the Lawyer Awards
Kent Law Clinic – which is the pro-bono legal service offered by the University of Kent – was announced as the winner of the Ethical Initiative of the Year award at the Lawyer Awards 2014. Kent Law Clinic works with individuals who have asylum claims and refugee support groups – in fact a recent victory for Kent Law Clinic was a case that secured asylum for an Afghan citizen on religious grounds due to his atheism – thought to be the first of its kind!
As well as providing pro-bono legal help to those in need, the clinic also undertakes research into how unaccompanied minors are treated under the current system.
This achievement by Kent Law Clinic is well worth bearing in mind when looking into Law schools, since at Kent you’ll get the chance to study on a great law program as well as gain valuable work experience, and provide help to those in need.
