Metro Bank launches loan for ULaw students
Metro Bank recently announced the launch of their new Professional Studies Loan Scheme, which will provide financial support for postgraduate studies. Initially only available to students at The University of Law (ULaw), it is intended to fund both course fees and living costs, and is available to those studying full time, part time, or online.
On this loan scheme, students can borrow between £1,000 and £25,000 to cover their course fees, alongside an additional 20% for living expenses. The maximum loan amount is up to £25,000 and there are no early repayment charges. With the option to defer repayments until up to six months after finishing (as long as no study gaps are made), students are expected to pay back the loan within five years of the repayment start date.
John Latham, Provost and CEO at the University of Law says of the scheme, “Metro Bank is a modern pioneer in retail banking and we’re pleased to be partnering with a business that shares our values for innovation and forward thinking. Being able to offer Metro Bank’s Professional Studies Loan Scheme allows the university to continue to attract the best talent from a diverse range of backgrounds. As the UK’s leading law school, we recognise that it’s not always easy to find the financial support needed to study. This Metro Bank scheme underlines our commitment to provide students with the best opportunities to enter the legal services sector.”
