New LLM in Corporate and Financial Law at University of Glasgow

School logoFaced with an increasingly competitive global employment market, Glasgow School of Law offers a carefully tailored set of specialist postgraduate programmes that respond to current global issues.

Due to the increasing complexity of financial instruments and markets, Glasgow School of Law recognised the need for modern lawyers to understand the structure and interplay of both corporate and financial law across the entire spectrum of a corporate lifecycle. The new LLM in Corporate and Financial Law is designed to meet this need.

Launched in 2009, it has proven incredibly popular with students who wish to study two key legal branches that give rise to overlapping issues. It focuses on key areas such as venture capital funding, governance arrangements, takeovers and insolvency. Due to its specialist focus on legal documentation and market practice, the programme is not widely available elsewhere in the UK.

Glasgow School of Law focuses on providing excellent student learning and experience. Class sizes are limited to 25 students per seminar, allowing a high level of staff contact. The School’s reputation for excellence has an international reach and last year it welcomed students from 24 different countries including Germany, Greece, and China.
