Swansea Law School climbing to the top of the league tables
In recent months, Swansea University School of Law has gained recognition as a centre of excellence both in terms of teaching and research.
The National Student Survey 2008 showed Swansea Law School claiming 1st position among law schools in Wales and sharing 11th place among law schools in the United Kingdom with a score of 94% in terms of overall satisfaction. (Source: www.unistats.com/retrieveColleges_en.do)
In the recent Research Assessment Exercise (RAE 2008), an evaluation of the quality of research across the UK higher education institutions, 95% of research conducted in the School has been recognised to have achieved an international standard. This breadth of international level of research activity was attained by only 11 of the 67 law schools in the RAE. Swansea’s School of Law is proud to have the largest submission of research active staff of any law school in Wales. (Source: www.rae.ac.uk)
Commenting on the success which the School has enjoyed in recent months, Dr B Soyer, Director of Taught Master Schemes, said: 'Our taught master programmes in the realm of commercial and maritime law, taught by a team of experts, have always been a popular choice for students from the UK and abroad. As the international reputation of the School reaches a high level, this will undoubtedly put Swansea graduates in a pivotal position in the increasingly competetive job market.'
