Sydney Law School to launch Juris Doctor
Sydney Law School is delighted to announce the introduction of a Juris Doctor (JD) as its graduate entry law degree from 2011.
The Sydney Law School JD will provide students with a world-class legal education that prepares them for the global and international environment in which they will provide legal advice.
The Dean, Professor Gillian Triggs says, 'The Sydney JD intends to equip you with the knowledge and skills to operate in a global legal environment and create a pathway for international legal practice. Lawyers need international and comparative legal training to respond to increasingly global problems.'
She continues, 'There has never been a greater demand for legal advice and innovative approaches to problem solving than today. The Sydney JD will develop your skills of analysis, research, writing and advocacy and prepare you to move with confidence across national boundaries.'
The Sydney JD will have an international focus, including the opportunity for you to study two core units in International Law; exchange opportunities available in North America, Europe and the Asia Pacific at institutions including NYU, Humboldt and the National University of Singapore; ability to undertake off-shore study in China, Japan, the United Kingdom and Nepal.
