University of Oklahoma law professor receives national teaching award
A professor at the University of Oklahoma College of Law - Professor Owen L Anderson - is the 2011 recipient of a national teaching award that recognises an outstanding educator in natural resources law.
The Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation recently presented Professor Anderson with the Clyde O Martz Award for Excellence in Teaching. Professor Anderson has been a law faculty member at the University of Oklahoma (OU) since 1992, and is the Eugene Kuntz Chair in Oil, Gas and Natural Resources and director of the John B Turner LLM Program.
OU President David L Boren, says, “The entire OU family joins me in congratulating Professor Anderson for receiving this signal national honour. It is a tribute to his national and international stature in his field.”
OU College of Law Dean Joe Harroz says, “Professor Anderson is a treasure. He is an international expert in natural resources law, lecturing extensively to audiences worldwide on the topic. He is also an invaluable resource to OU law students pursing natural resources law. Professor Anderson is an incredible classroom teacher who takes the time and initiative to connect students to international opportunities. He is very deserving of this award, and we are honoured to have him on faculty.”
