University of Southampton to launch MSc Crime Analysis
The University of Southampton is launching a new MSc in Crime Analysis which is due to start in September 2011. This new programme is being co-ordinated by Southampton School of Law lecturer Phil Palmer.
This new MSc aims to link the processes of preventing and detecting of crime, disorder and community safety issues to a theoretical study of criminalisation and criminal justice practice.
This course will combine crime control theory and practice, with traditional issues of criminal justice, criminal law, criminal evidence and criminology. It will also look at strategic decision making and the tactical deployment of resources to prevent, reduce and detect crime and disorder.
