West Virginia University to launch new LLM in Energy Law
West Virginia University will be introducing a new Masters of Laws degree in Energy Law and Sustainable Development from the autumn of 2014. The course will offer practical training in various aspects of the energy industry and will equip students for careers as lawmakers, regulators or policymakers, as well as for jobs in environmental organisations and energy, utilities or manufacturing companies.
West Virginia plays a crucial role in America’s energy industry, making WVU Law one of the best places to study the legal and political considerations surrounding the sector. The university plans to build on this advantage by continuing to play a significant role in shaping future energy and environmental policies, utilising its Centre for Energy and Sustainable Development and other resources in West Virginia.
The introduction of the LLM in Energy and Sustainable Development is a clear demonstration of WVU Law’s commitment to the development of the energy sector, and reflects its position as one of the foremost institutions in research and development.
WVU’s new LLM program in Energy and Sustainable Development is awaiting final approval by the American Bar Association.
